Corporeality of Community

Corporeality of Community is a project in which my collaborators and I developed body-, sound-, and movement-based practices to support experiences of connection across different communities. We combined artistic methods with an understanding of bodily and nervous-system processes, exploring how gentle self-regulation, vocal work, and collective movement can create conditions where connection emerges safely and organically.

We facilitated several workshops for diverse groups. Participants first attuned to a calm and open bodily state, after which we explored synchrony, mirroring, rhythm, and shared space — ways in which bodies can find one another without pressure or performance. We aimed to investigate how movement and sound can form a physiological foundation for connection at a time when many experience isolation or insecurity.

The project aligns with my broader interest in participatory arts and communal rituals, deepening my understanding of connection as a bodily skill that can be cultivated. Corporeality of Community has been central to my artistic and pedagogical work, exploring how community, body, and voice meet in shared practice.
